Dreams are like Popsicles.
They come in different varieties: syrupy Otter Pops, creamy Fudgsicles, and even, Cotton Candy Swirls.
Place your dream down for even a moment, and it melts into useless, sticky liquid. You no longer recognize the once treasured, icy goodness, and instead, you only see a gooey mess, another chore to complete, an unchecked item on your endless to-do-list.
And that’s why even if it feels selfish, protect your dreams.
Guard them while walking the playground of life.
If someone tries to snatch your dream away or knock it from your hand, be ready.
Hold on.
Scream out.
Put up a fight.
Dreams are too important.
Care for your dream. Eat it slowly. Let it permeate your insides and coat your soul.
After all, there’s a reason you picked that glorious dream from the ice cream truck in the first place.
Question for you: How do you treat your dreams? Are they silly ideas that only get attention when the house is quiet or do you make them a visible priority?
: :
Along the same lines, I hope you are failing.

Oh, girl! You are heaven-scent and your words, straight from God to my heart.
Just what I needed to hear....thanks for being the one to tell me-
Hmmm, how do I treat my dreams? I ask the Lord if they are His dreams for me, and then wait, wait some more, until I start feeling Him leading the way. :)
Thanks, Amy, for being a dream-builder with your words!
ah, i try to serve them up to the Lord each day, yes i do! try not to sweep them under the rug or store them in the closet to bring out when "the kids are grown and gone." for with the putting on the shelf i find that i forget. . . and a small part of who i am goes unknown, unrecognized. i'm finding my kids need to know my dreams, need to be a part of those dreams. . . for in many ways, they are the inspiration and the culmination of so many of my dreams.
blessings to you this day, amy!

What a fantastic analogy. And I love that you asked how we treat a "treat". For dreams come true really are a treat. And when it comes to treats I care a lot more about finishing them then say a bowl of brussel sprouts...

I so need to hear this. We are at a gas station somewhere in sc, and I happened to check my email. You've given me some good things to think on during the rest of my drive home. You are awesome. Thanks.
Very apropos for my current "melt down" regarding my dream of creating a new "web home" for my blog and artwork. I'm in the final leg and taking a break for the holidays from grinding that is required to make the website a reality. I just want to stay glued to the coach, "fat and happy". Gotta get going again, it will indeed be worth it. Thanks for the timely words.
Thanks for reading, ladies.
I love hearing about the dreams you are savoring in your lives.
Steph,
Heads up: I plan on quoting your comment.
so, so encouraging. you are amazing, amy girl.
It has taken me some time to figure out the changes in my dreams since we moved. One year in . . . I am starting to see it again.
Fondly,
Glenda

I ignore mine... never believing that I am worthy to have such a bold and delicious flavor...
This was such a treat! (Literally and figuratively!! ) :)
So now you have me wondering, Amy...am I protecting my dreams or not? Hmmm... I need to think about this. Thanks for provoking thought!
I love this! What a great metaphor for dreams. Thank you for sharing this sweet encouragement today.
Awesome! Dreams likened to popsicles. Beautiful words. Thank you Amy.
My dreams are definitely a visible priority. Although, my best times with God in them, are when the house is quiet.
