Local ideas for those of you near Asheville, North Carolina. Our family has enjoyed serving with the following organizations:

The misson of Manna Foodbank is a hunger free western North Carolina. Great place to volunteer with little ones! 


Hands On Asheville-Buncombe, is a program of United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County. It provides a link for individuals, families, corporate, and civic or faith-based groups to volunteer in the Asheville and Buncombe County. Amazing resource containing a huge volunteer database and volunteer guidelines for families.


The Rathbun Center is a non-profit corporation that provides lodging and other supportive services in a "home like" environment, free of charge, for patients and or their caregivers coming into Asheville, North Carolina for medical treatment. A variety of volunteer opportunities available for families (including making cookies for guests, yum!).


RiverLink works to keep the French Broad River and its tributaries an amazing place to live, work and play. 


Sole Hope desires to put closed toed shoes on African children one pair at a time. Sole Hope teaches men and women the valuable trade of shoemaking. In addition, Sole Hope works with recovering addicts, the homeless, and the unemployed right here in Asheville.


Kids Care Projects engage kids in age appropriate volunteer activities. Projects require parent supervision and are announced monthly.
